What information do we collect?

We collect some information directly

We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to our mailing list, or respond to a survey.

When ordering or registering on our site, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, billing and shipping address, phone number, or credit card information.

If you purchase a class from us your payment will be processed through either Stripe or PayPal. They will collect the information needed to process your payment. This may include your purchase total, and your billing information.

We collect some information automatically

Our website uses cookies to help us compile data about site traffic and to ensure the proper functioning of our shopping cart. Our site will recognize information like your IP address, what type of devices are used, high-level location information (e.g., city or state), and user behavior (such as how long users stay on the website and which links users click on). This information is only used in aggregate and is not used for any purpose except to ensure the proper functioning and security of the web site. We share this information with Squarespace, our website analytics provider, to learn about site traffic and activity.

What do we use your information for?

Each Category is collected for uses that advance our commercial or economic interests such as: (i) promoting surveys and contests; (ii) promoting and advertising the Services; (iii) customizing the Services; (iv) improving our Services; (v) communicating with you about relevant offers from third parties; and (vi) other commercial purposes about which we may notify you from time to time.

Emails

Abandoned Cart Emails

You’ll receive an automated email within 24 hours after you abandon your shopping cart, if all the following occur:

  1. You enter your email address at checkout or are logged into your Customer Account.

  2. You add a product which is in stock to your shopping cart.

  3. You close your browser or leave this website without completing your purchase.

The email will link back to this website, where you can pick up where you left off and complete your purchase.

You can unsubscribe from these messages at the bottom of the email.

Marketing Emails

We may send you marketing emails, which you can unsubscribe from by clicking the link at the bottom of the email. We share your contact information with Squarespace, our email marketing provider, so they can send these emails on our behalf.

Order and Account Emails

We may email you with messages about your order or account activity. For example, we may email you to tell you that:

  • You’ve created a Customer Account

  • Your Customer Account password has been reset or updated

  • You’ve made a purchase

  • Your order has shipped

It’s not possible to unsubscribe from these messages.

Newsletter Emails

If you chose to be added to the email list, we will send you information pertaining to writing advice, news, and special deals.

You can unsubscribe from these messages at the bottom of the email.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential.
